Why Are There So Many Godzilla Toy And Action Figures To Buy?

Many science fiction and horror films and comic books create toys relating to those titles. An awfully admired motion picture character turned toy figure is Godzilla. Originally introduced in Japan in the 1950s, Godzilla has conquered a global cult audience. Hundreds of toy characters in Godzilla’s resemblance have been created. If you love this fire-breathing prehistoric monster, chances are you desire to collect the countless Godzilla action figures in existence.

Whether you label him Godzilla or Gojira, there is no doubt that the enormous green lizard is perhaps Japan’s most popular import, at least beside Hello Kitty and that Asahi beer. Originally an intimidating monster and symbol for the nuclear bombardment, Godzilla altered over the years since he first appeared in 1954, as film director Eji Tsuburaya discovered that his largest group of followers were children, with all of their delectable licensing dollars.

Kaiju collecting can rapidly become a very costly as well as addicting past time. Since the 1960s the kaiju collector has had a growing number of collectibles to splurge their hard earned money on, and for many a fan, the most enjoyable element of enjoying a collection is to search for that uncommon poster, lobby, card, tin toy, etc. Oddly enough, the very first collectible Godzilla toy was not even created in Japan, but was the America model set manufactured by Aurora. For many a fan though, the most popular sought after collectible isn’t that rare poster, CD or model set. For most fans, the most popular and commonly collected Godzilla items are the vinyl Godzilla toys which have continued to be popular for more than three decades.
